My Favorite Essential Oil Blends

Today I am going to share with you my favorite Essential Oil recipes. Most of these are made with Young Living oils (YL), but some are also made with Healing Solutions (HS), which I buy on Amazon.com.

I am still amazed on a daily basis how much essential oils have become integrated into my day to day life and how effective they are!  I am someone who is basically allergic to everything on this planet, trees, grass, animals, plants, etc. So far I have not found once single oil I have had any reaction to, and if anything, my allergies and asthma have improved!

Seasonal Discomfort/Respiratory Help Blend

Warm weather is finally coming to New England! Green shoots are popping out of the ground and buds are bursting open on trees and flowers. Ahh so much fresh air! Too bad it is filled mostly with pollen at the moment. The last few days I have been waking up to an itchy throat and a tickle in my nose. I found the below mix on Pinterest and have been using it for the last week. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! It takes away the itch in my throat in less than 3 minutes and clears my sinuses. I keep it with me at all times. I have also noticed since I started using it I have not had to use my inhaler AT ALL! I have been suffering with asthma all winter and suddenly that seems to have dissipated since I started using this great respiratory blend. SCORE!

I mixed the above oils* per the instructions and put into a roller ball. I use it as follows:
Morning -  1 drop behind each ear, on the bottom of each foot, back of my neck, and under my nose
Afternoon - 1 drop behind each ear
Dinner Time - 1 drop behind each ear
Bedtime - 1 drop behind each ear, on the bottom of each foot, and back of my neck

*Note- I used YL Lavender, YL Peppermint, HS Cypress, and HS Wintergreen oils

Nervous System Support

This mix has helped me a lot for times when I need to reduce those pesty butterflies you sometimes feel in your stomach. I typically use this before going to the dentist (where I have been a frequent customer the past few months) as well as before presentations at work or business meetings. I also find it helpful if I am having a particularly stressful and busy day. I would expect it would help students before exams as well.

15 drops vetiver/30 drops stress away/35 drops valor/50 drops lavender/40 drops carrier oil (I use jojoba)

I mixed the above oils together and put into a roller ball. I use it as follows:

- 1 drop/roll behind each ear and back of my neck, repeat as needed

I happened to have all 4 of these oils from YL and used them for this mix. Also, someone mentioned to me recently that they also added YL Patchouli Oil to their mix and love it. Next time I make this I will also add 10 drops of Patchouli.

Sleepytime Mix

I have tried several recipes for sleep and most of them all involved YL Peace & Calming as a base. My son loves Peace & Calming and I use it for him at bedtime in a diffuser and in a pillow spray along with YL Lavender. I, on the other hand, am not that big of a fan of the smell. I don't know what it is about it, but I do not like it.  I prefer the below mix.

I use them as follows in a diffuser:

- 3 drops YL Vetiver

- 3 drops YL Lavender

- 3 drops YL Cedarwood

I prefer to put my diffuser on the intermittent setting (I use the one I got from my Premium Starter Kit from Young Living) so it lasts most of the night.

I have to say I was skeptical about the Vetiver at first. I heard it was great for sleep and really wanted to try it. I opened the bottle and was repulsed! It smelled awful! I still decided to give it a try. When blended with other oils or even put in a diffuser alone, it smells amazing. So relaxing and I feel that I am sleeping in a peaceful forest.

Sweet dreams Everyone!
~Blossom~
